Behind the Eyes

I feel different. I just feel different. Like something inside of me has shifted motives and feelings. Hopefully for the better.

Onto the features. And I'm going to do a commentary on each piece.

This image was my motivation for this little feature. They eyes of horses are so moving. They can speak so much without words and this picture really brought that home for me. So without further ado, here are the rest. Enjoy!

I love the subtle contrast in this one. It's easy on the eyes but not washed out. The slight blur adds to the effect in my opinion. I love the forelock on this horse. Sort of messy and wavy. Very beautiful.

I love this one plain and simple. The human hair on the horses face makes it seem like they're one creature. It's an interesting concept and it's well executed. I also like the high color contrast. It's startling.

This one really took me by surprise. The thumbnail is beautiful, with the bright colors and the contrast. But upon clicking the full view I was delighted to see the small detail of the snowflakes in the lashes and brows of both the horse and master.

This one caught my eye because, well, I love chestnuts. I love red horses. I find the focus here so beautiful. The eye and everything on the same plane with it are the only things in focus. Behind and in front of are not. It's a great effect on any photo, and here it was VERY well done. This piece is so breathtaking.

Despite the image being mildly out of focus, this piece is fantastic. The horse is so unique! The minimal black around the eye really brings out the blue. So beautiful!

The lighting and focus on detail in this image are suburb. The contrast between the near black and the reddish tones are perfect. I love how the eye and the whiskers nearly seem to glow with the light.

The sense of motion in this one really brought it to my attention as all the other images I looked at lacked it 100%. I like the emotion captured, the horse looks startled but contemplative. I like the setting too. It almost feels cloudy to me which to me adds to the horses emotion.

More reddish and black light. My favorite combination. There is a profound sadness in this image that I find very intriguing. I love the cast shadows from the whiskers and lashes. Good lighting choice in my opinion.

The white line of the marking between the light color of the horses coat and the black forelock makes this pieces composition really neat. I really adore the fuzziness of the horse, who looks not only sad, but like they're waiting for someone or something. Beautiful image.

The composition of this one is unique and lovely. The curve of the neck adds greatly to the piece. The focus going out toward the back of the image is very well done. Great photo.

I love the contrast here. The blackest black and the brightest whites with the touches of red and brown are so lovely. There's so much intelligence in the eyes and a hint of sweetness. She mentions in the description that he is, and you can see it in his face. Well captured.
